"By listening with calm and understanding, we can ease the suffering of another person." -Thich Nhat Hanh

"Empathy isn't just remembering to say 'that really must be hard'- it's figuring out how to bring difficulty into the light so that it can be seen at all. Empathy isn't just listening- its asking the questions whose answers need to be listened to. "
-excerpt from The Empathy Exams

I believe counseling requires a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client. In building rapport and trust in the context of this relationship, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Together we can learn to understand how your experiences and history have shaped you, impacted you, and influenced your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. I engage with individuals in the therapeutic process to help them obtain insight, understanding, healing, and hope for the challenges they are facing. I would love the opportunity to speak with you and see if we would be a good fit to address your concerns and goals for therapy.

I graduated with a Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University in 2013. I have logged over 4000 hours under supervision and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#6007) in the state of Oklahoma.

My own therapeutic journey has been influential in my desire to pursue counseling as a profession. I believe in the power of the therapeutic process to help people heal, cope, recover, and thrive in their relationship with self, others, and the world around them. I have experience helping people with issues such as grief/loss, divorce, relationship conflict, anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, sexual concerns, LGBTQI+ issues, and adjustment difficulties as well as those wanting to improve self-awareness, personal growth, and vulnerability. I will do my best to provide an environment of listening, support, encouragement, challenge, and celebration as you journey towards recovery, growth, healing, and wholeness.

It is my belief and policy that all persons are deserving and entitled to receive counseling services regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or disability.
