In my experience, people feel most comfortable when their experience is validated, they are given space to explore and reflect without judgement, and are celebrated as their authentic selves. Therapy should be a supportive experience where you journey from one place to another - that can look like suffering to acceptance, chaos to order, distress to calm, or confusion to understanding.
